Hovhannes Tumanyan's first biography was the poet himself. At the age of eighteen, he undertook to write the story of his ancestors, entitled "A Case Without a Case." In the 90's he tried to compile a branch of the dynasty, in 1905 he wrote a short biography for the "Luys" calendar-magazine.
