Biography
She was born on April 4, 1964, Gyumri.
1981-1986 studied at Yerevan State University, Faculty of Romano-Germanic Languages and Literature
1988-1991 studied at Moscow State Linguistic University, Postgraduate Studies.
In 1990, she defended her PhD thesis on the topic "Features of English Literary Nonsense" at the Moscow Linguistic University.
In 2009, she defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic "The Poetics of the Armenian Miracle Tale", at the Institute of Literature named after M. Abeghyan.
Qualified Specialist:
1991 – Candidate of Philological Sciences (awarded by the decision of Moscow State Linguistic University Professional Council, the topic is "Linguistic and Cognitive Features of Meaningless Expressions in Literary Text").
2009 – Doctor of Philological Sciences (awarded by the decision of the Professional Council of the Institute of Literature of NAS of RA, the topic: "The Poetics of the Armenian Miracle Tale")
1992-2000 worked at YSU as Lecturer of English Philology Department
2007-2009 was the Acting Head of Language Theory and Intercultural Communication Department of the Armenian-Russian (Slavic) University
2009-2017 – YSU English Philology Chair Docent
2017 – YSU English Philology Chair Professor
From 2009 to today works at Hovhannes Toumanian Museum as Head of the Storytelling Department
She wrote several monographs devoted to fairy tales and literature for children / "In the Garden of Enchanted Souls: children's literature theory questions ", "The Fairy Tale as Archetext", "Rhetorical Transformations in Fairy Tales", etc. /. She is the scientific responsible for the series "Pearls in Armenian translation of fairy tales" and the author of theoretical comments.
She published articles in Yerevan, Moscow, London, Edinburgh, Beirut, Washington, Tartu.
She composed and edited "Ireland and Armenia: Studies in Language, History and Narrative Collection": Journal of Indo-European Studies, Monograph Series 61, Washington D. C., 2012
She is the Chief Editor of "Voske Divan: Journal of Fairy Tale Studies "and "Hasker: Yearbook of Children’s Literature and Folklore ".
